According to researchers, the Paleo diet is anywhere from 10,000-2.5 million years old. The Paleo diet means limiting food that became more common after farming started. Farming was a major game-changer for people for many reasons. It created things like dairy, grains and legumes. Things like fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, fish and lean meats are recommended on the diet.
The Paleo diet most closely matches the biologic design of humans since much of the human genome developed on this type of high-protein diet. Foods that were not available to Paleolithic humans, such as grains and dairy products, are avoided on the Paleo diet.
